Yogesh Patel will be joining us as president of the South Texas Youth Cricket Association.
Yogesh helped to found Houston Cricket in 1976, watching it grow from a single team to today's thirty-team Houston Cricket League. He served as the Houston Cricket League President in 1998, 1999 and 2008 and also served on the USACA Board of Directors as the Central West Director in 1999-2000. In last few years he has visited some of the Houston Area Middle schools to demonstrate cricket at the request of some of the teachers. To help promote the cricket in the Houston area, he has organized many tournaments including the annual Indo-Pak Cup, which is in its thirteenth year.
Originally from Ahmedabad, India, where he played cricket at the University and state level, Yogesh settled in Houston in 1976 after completing his graduate studies at Villanova University. Yogesh has also served on the boards of various social organizations in Houston area and in 2007 was Chief Trustee of Gujarati Samaj of Houston, one of the biggest Indian organizations in Houston.
With his wealth of experience and friends in the game, Yogesh is a great addition to the USYCA team, and we wish him great success.
