On May 16, Vasu Ram of the Massachusetts Youth Cricket Association conducted a group training session for teachers in the Boston Public Schools system. At the conclusion of the training, each teacher received a USYCA American Cricket Champ set for their school. In addition, BPS puchased additional sets so that the schools could have more than one.
"It was great to introduce cricket to public schools in Boston," said Ram. "The physical trainers loved it and thought it is great sport especially for kids and teaches them the values of team work, leadership and strategy. They are looking forward to introducing the game to the kids soon."
BPS looks forward to expanding cricket when school resumes in the Fall, and potentially adding cricket to its Physical Education curriculum.
