USYCA Begins Process For Creating New Junior Programs In 2013

USYCA's junior cricket pilot program was a major success in Maryland this summer. Three new junior programs, almost completely filled with children new to cricket, are now up and running under local leadership, and preparing themselves for a new Maryland junior cricket league in 2013.

In 2013, a major focus point for USYCA will be the replication of this program in communities across the United States, starting with areas that have, or will have, received significant numbers of cricket sets for their local schools.

Based on our experiences this summer, we have developed a detailed blueprint that will act as a roadmap for those developing new programs next year. Of course, USYCA is also ready to provide comprehensive assistance to local volunteers at all stages of program development.

Here's our initial short-list for 2013 target areas:

1. Winston-Salem, NC
2. Charlotte, NC
3. Greensboro, NC
4, Indianapolis, IN
5. Omaha, NE
6. Frisco, TX
7. Lewisville, TX
8. Groton, CT
9. Boston, MA
10. Richmond, VA
11. Fairfax, VA
12. Arlington, VA
13. Portsmouth, VA
14. Sterling, VA
15. St. Charles, MO
16. Columbia, MD
17. Pottstown, PA

These new programs will need local volunteers if they are to succeed. If you would like to play a foundational role in the future of cricket in the United States, please contact USYCA by email and we will put you in touch with a local coordinator.

(If you don't see your area, and would like it to be included, please let us know.)

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
