USYCA is pleased to announce the addition of the Michigan Premier Cricket Club to its ranks. The fast-growing MPCC ws formed in 2010 and now plans to add a second team next year. The MPCC's vision extends beyond the boundaries, however, as it looks to promote the game among adults, youths and women in Michigan.
"Cricket is growing in the USA but the future of this wonderful sport in this land of opportunities will remain bleak unless young boys and girls start playing cricket in most school districts," said MPCC President Pankaj Mahajan. "We support USYCA because we also believe in their focused approach to promote youth cricket in the States. Promotion of youth cricket needs to start at the grass roots level - in schools. Also, it needs to be fully supported locally by local cricket clubs & Leagues/Associations and partially funded by national-level organizations like USACA and/or USYCA."
"We are very happy to have such a dedicated and outward-thinking club such as the Michigan Premier Cricket Club associated with us," said USYCA President Jamie Harrison. "The MPCC will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with, and we look ahead to many years of partnership with them as they grow."
