USYCA Granted Tax-Exempt Status By IRS

In a letter dated September 28, 2011, the Internal Revenue Service has notified USYCA that it has been granted tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This status is effective as of USYCA's incorporation date, June 29, 2010, and all donations made from that date are fully deductible as a charitable contribution.

"With this granting of tax-exempt status, USYCA will now have the ability to pursue more productive sponsorship and fundraising opportunities," President Jamie Harrison said. "This will allow us to expand and accelerate our work as the national youth cricket organization, and to do more in support of the efforts of local volunteers and groups. With this critical benchmark accomplished, there's no limit to what USYCA can do to grow our great game among young people in America."

In the past year, USYCA has donated over 700 cricket sets to schools in the United States, and because of the USYCA Schools Program, cricket will be played this fall by hundreds of thousands of American schoolchildren. USYCA has also begun the process of creating introductory youth cricket programs, under the auspices of established community sports organizations, for the Summer of 2012.

In 2012, USYCA plans on placing cricket sets in an additional 1,000 American schools through its ICC award-winning Schools Program and launching dozens of new community youth cricket programs. USYCA will also be sponsoring and conducting coach training sessions across the United States, such as the sold-out ICC Level I course scheduled for later this month in Greenbelt, Maryland.
