Missouri YCA Introduces Cricket to Riverview Gardens School District Elementary Schools

The following has been received from USYCA Affiliate Member Missouri Youth Cricket Association:

On November 1, MYCA conducted a two-hour presentation & demonstration at Meadows Elementary School. The presentation was done in the school library followed by a demo in school gym. The audiences at this event were the below elementary PE teachers from the Riverview Gardens School District:

1. Lisa Vitale, Moline Elementary School
2. Theresa Beck, Meadows Elementary School
3. Cari Melvin, Gibson Elementary School
4. Cetina Banks, Koch Elementary School
5. Adam Brower, Lemasters Elementary School
6. Dan Graham, Lewis and Clark Elementary School
7. Jason Holzum, Glasgow Elementary School
8. Gilbert Lankine, Danforth Elementary School
9. Scott Scheve, Highland Elementary School

The MYCA volunteers at this event were Priya Singh (President), Ranjeet Singh (Secretary), Michael Voss (MYCA Academy Coach), Yuvraj Singh (MYCA Academy Player) and Ritu Singh (MYCA Academy Player).

We would like to welcome the newest member of our MYCA Family, Michael Voss. Michael was present at this event and his input and thoughts helped us make the presentation more successful.

The PE teachers, most of whom had very minimal knowledge of cricket, attended the presentation with interest, and participated in the demo with great enthusiasm. MYCA is hoping to visit each school again and be able to do another demo with school students and also continue helping the PE teachers to introduce the game of cricket to their school kids via training and guidance.

MYCA is in earlier stages of introducing the sport in schools and with everyone's encouragement and support, it hopes to be able share this wonderful sport with more and more school children at grass root level.

We would like to thank all PE teachers and especially Lisa Vitale for giving us this opportunity to introduce cricket at their school district. We would also like to thank USYCA for providing the complimentary cricket sets for the schools.
